Spread on the Salsa

When it comes to using salsa as a condiment that's low in fat and calories, there are all kinds of options. "Some creative ways people use it is as a salad dressing," says Martha Mitchell Funnell, a diabetes educator at the Michigan Diabetes Research and Training Center, "or on baked potatoes in place of butter or sour cream. Others put it on popcorn or on top of rice and beans. Salsa can give your food a bit more zip."
