Waffles
2
eggs or 4 egg whites
1
cup whole wheat flour
1
cup all-purpose flour
2
cups buttermilk
1
tablespoon sugar
3
tablespoons canola oil
2
teaspoons baking powder
1/4
teaspoon salt
1/2
cup low-fat granola
Drizzle
1/2
cup honey
1/4
cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 Heat waffle iron; brush with canola oil if necessary (or spray with cooking spray before heating). In medium bowl, beat eggs with fork or wire whisk until foamy. Beat in remaining waffle ingredients except granola just until smooth.
  • 2 Pour about 1 cup batter from cup or pitcher onto center of hot waffle iron. (Check manufacturer’s directions for recommended amount of batter.) Close lid of waffle iron.
  • 3 Bake about 5 minutes or until steaming stops. Carefully remove waffle. Repeat with remaining batter.
  • 4 Meanwhile, in small microwavable bowl, mix honey and peanut butter. Microwave uncovered on High 40 to 60 seconds or until warm; stir until smooth. Drizzle over waffles. Sprinkle with granola.

Expert Tips

Besides being low in fat because it's made with skim milk, buttermilk is a powerful ingredient to use in baking because it adds a terrific dairy flavor and gives a moist baked good. You'll love these easy waffles!

I tried this recipe but instead of waffles i made peanut butter stuffed french toast without any egg. First i put some peanut butter between the two pieces of bread while the pan was heating up and sprinkled on some cinnamon on both sides and put a small bit of butter on both sides set it in the pan for about 30 seconds per side till i could smell the peanut butter and for it to heat up.Then i used there peanut butter honey drizzle and enjoyed :]And i really don't like peanut butter and i liked this.
