Maple syrup is the secret flavor in these velvety mashed sweets. Make them the day before, reheat and serve from a slow cooker. From eatbetteramerica.

I was skeptical about this recipe. It was easy, throw them in the oven for and hour and fifteen minutes, mine were smaller sweet potatoes and the skins peeled right off. After about 10 minutes if that they where whipped and ready to go. SOO good!!

Try cooking the sweet potatoes in the crock pot. I cover each potato with foil and place in a crock pot. Cook all day on low. Then follow the rest of the recipe. My sweet potatoes are always done perfectly this way.

The pototoes took longer to cook than I thought so they didn't mash very well. Very lumpy. I could tell though that the flavor would have been very good and plan to try them again. But make sure the potatoes are well done.
