cup Gold Medal® all-purpose flour

teaspoon dried sage leaves

teaspoon dried thyme leaves

cups reduced-sodium vegetable broth (from 32-oz box)

cups Green Giant® Valley Fresh Steamers™ frozen mixed vegetables

cup cut-up cooked chicken breast

cup Bisquick Heart Smart® mix

tablespoons chopped green onions (2 medium)

teaspoon onion powder

cup fat-free (skim) milk
  • 1 In 2-quart saucepan, mix flour, sage, thyme and pepper. Gradually stir in broth with wire whisk until blended. Heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Stir in vegetables and chicken; heat to boiling.
  • 2 In small bowl, stir together Bisquick® mix, onions and onion powder. Stir in milk just until moistened. Drop by 6 spoonfuls onto boiling stew; reduce heat.
  • 3 Simmer uncovered 10 minutes; cover and simmer 10 minutes longer.

This is one of the best recipes I have tried from this website. Total comfort food and very satisfying. Next time, I will use a little less pepper because it was a bit overwhelming.

i really liked this recipe but i agree that it needed other seasonings and i know salt isnt extremely healthy but it really needed it! i used ground turkey breast because i accidently put my chicken breasts in the freezer and it turned out really well. i also added fresh minced garlic to the dumplings because i ran out of green onion. yummy!
