Wonderful!
We honestly weren't too sure going into this meal (we joked about just going to Sonic instead) but my husband and son raved about this recipe! Since the consistency of the burger is similar to crab cakes, I formed the patties on wax paper, making the transfer to the skillet a lot easier. We topped the burgers with red pepper relish, a little BBQ, and spinach leaves and served sweet potato fries on the side. I will gladly make this again :)

It really did taste like refried beans on a bun. I was glad I bought SPICY chili beans. It worked out, but it's not something I'd make for anyone else to eat. I made a quick spicy sauce to give it more moisture and good flavor: light sour cream and a few dashes of cayenne pepper. Ate with spinach tomato on Sandwich Thins. Leftovers I ate on a salad (red onion, cheese, tomato, cilantro) and it worked. =) The flavors were good enough - just not a super-exciting meal.

Spicy Chili Bean Burgers This was the first time that I ever had a non meat burger and I have to say I was very impressed. It was easy to fix, took little time to prepare and was not very expensive. I would have no problem sharing this recipe with friends

turkey instead of beef
use lean turkey burger instead of ground meat and use one eag white and 1/4 c of unsweated apple sauce and 1tbs of worcestershire sauce and 1/2 c of oat meal. this will hold the burger together better. enjoy.

Bean Burger is da Bomb
I was a bit skeptical, but I loved this burger. It was really easy to make, and it tastes great. I thought it was a bit loose when I was balling it up, so I added some brown rice-maybe 1/2 cup. It was perfect then. My only "complaint" is that the calorie count given includes the bun. I didn't eat it with the bun, so I sort of have to guess. For those who do WW, even with the brown rice, this burger is 3 points. YUM!

Refried Beans on Bun
I was so excited to make this for my son and I but unfortuantely very disappointed with results. My 12 year old son wouldn't eat more than 1 bite and he's not usually too picky. To be honest, it tasted like I just slapped refriend beans on a bun. I wasn't able to find spicy chili beans so I used regular chili beans instead which I'm sure affected the spice level, but the consistency wasn't very appetizing. I had to slather ketchup all over it just to get it down because it was so dry. I was looking for something nutricious and delicious but this just wasn't it.

Spicy Chili Bean Burgers
I made this recipe and was very dissatisfied with it. The consistency of all the ingredients mixed together was so gooey that I couldn't form mixture into patties. I would not make this recipe again.

I enjoyed this recipe. It was very easy to prepare and make, and took me less than 30 minutes from start to finish. While it is pretty plain, it is easy to dress up. Next time I think I will try adding some bell peppers for color, or possibly serviing it with honey mustard or some other type of dressing.

Just ok. It basically tasted like a refried bean burger. Not much taste other than the beans. Would possibly try again with a few twists.

Very good flavor, I must have mashed the beans too much it was a little like refried beans on a bun. The 10 year old loved them and wants them again, husband thought they were just ok. I liked them and will make them again.

good burger
My husband likes spicy foods so I thought I would try this burger on him. He cannot eat beef or turkey burgers and is missing out on them when others have hamburger. Because I do not like spicey food I did not care for this burger but he liked it a lot. Now he can have his 'hamburger' when everyone else has a regular burger (maybe I will make just these next time and have a taste test. Who knows maybe visitors will prefer this.

Not Bad. I played around with it alot though. Added a bit of BBQ sauce, jalapeno's, double the eggs, cereal, and oatmeal. I also added som whey protein powder.

just ok
Out of 5 family members: two liked this recipe, two did not like at all, and one didn't try it because she doesn't eat beans. Therefore, I rated it in the middle. I used ranch style canned beans - next time I try it, I will use chili beans. The patties fell apart easily and were kind of dry.
