Expert Tips

Oats are loaded with fiber--the soluble kind that helps to lower blood cholesterol. Start slowly so you have time to get used to more fiber!

Quick-cooking and old-fashioned rolled oats work equally well in this recipe. Quick-cooking oats are simply old-fashioned oats that have been ground to a finer texture. Use the old-fashioned oats if you prefer chewier cookies.

I really like these cookies! At first both my husband and I were a little suprised at how they were not as sweet as the usual cookie - we were probably expecting the taste to be similar to a nobake. Now that we've ate a few of them, I definitely find that they're sweet enough! I will be making these again and maybe even using more ww flour than white and maybe even trying to cut back on sugar more. These will be a great occasional treat when my child is old enough to have cookies!

This was a hearty cookie. Not too sweet but hits the chocolate spot. I love that they have whole wheat flour and oats. Definitely will make these again!
