makes:8 servings

1medium onion, sliced
1boneless pork loin roast (2 lb)
1package (8 oz) dried pears or dried plums (1 1/2 cups)
1/2cup apple juice
1/2teaspoon salt
1/2teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4teaspoon ground cinnamon
1.In 4- to 5-quart slow cooker, place onion. Place pork on onion; top with fruit.
2.In small bowl, mix remaining ingredients; pour over fruit.
3.Cover; cook on Low heat setting 7 to 9 hours or until pork is tender. Serve fruit mixture over pork.

Was okay
Well, I liked this one, but my husband and daughter didn't. It ended up a little dry and not very flavorful.

I used dried plums. The meat was okay. I have a basset hound. Even she did not want to eat it.

Fabulous!
That is the only way to describe this recipe. It was easy, few ingredients, and unbelievably tasty! I used turkish apricots as the fruit and carried the taste into orzo, terrific combo!

pork roast
This was the best ever. My family loves the way the fruit melds in with the meat and seasonings. I added fresh long carrots on the bottom of the crock pot then the onions. I have done this recipe twice in two weeks. It is now a family favorite!

This is a good recipe, but definately be careful not to overcook it! I did, and it was extremely dry, I would def. cook it th elower of 7 hours, maybe even less... I used the dried prunes, and was amazed at how great the mixture tasted over the pork!
