cups Total® Raisin Bran cereal

cup sliced almonds

bag (8 oz) dried mixed fruit (1 1/2 cups), cut into 1/2-inch pieces

cup packed brown sugar

tablespoons butter or margarine

teaspoons ground cinnamon
1
teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 Heat oven to 300°F. In large bowl, place cereal, almonds and fruit; set aside.
  • 2 In 1-quart saucepan, heat brown sugar and butter over low heat, stirring occasionally, until butter is melted. Stir in cinnamon and ginger. Pour over cereal mixture; toss until evenly coated. Spread in ungreased 15x10x1-inch pan.
  • 3 Bake 15 minutes, stirring twice. Spread on waxed paper. Cool about 30 minutes. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature.

Eating at least 3 servings of whole grains like Cheerios® cereal daily may help reduce blood cholesterol. Look for the word "whole" to be sure you get the whole grain.
