boneless skinless chicken breast halves (about 1 lb)

cup fat-free Thousand Island dressing

whole wheat sandwich buns, split

lettuce leaves

slices bacon, cooked, drained and broken
  • 1 Heat coals or gas grill for direct heat.
  • 2 Cover and grill chicken over MEDIUM heat 15 to 20 minutes, turning once, until juice of chicken is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut.
  • 3 Spread dressing on cut sides of buns. Layer chicken, lettuce, tomato and bacon in buns.

Expert Tips

If you like, you can substitute ranch dressing for the Thousand Island. Or try marinating the chicken in ranch dressing for extra flavor.
