cups packed brown sugar

cup margarine or butter, softened

teaspoon vanilla

eggs

cup Gold Medal® all-purpose flour

cup Gold Medal® whole wheat flour
1
teaspoon baking powder

cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, beat brown sugar and butter with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in vanilla and eggs until well blended. On low speed, beat in all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour and baking powder until well combined, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in oats.
  • 2 Drop dough by heaping tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • 3 Bake 10 to 14 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.

Expert Tips

Check your brown sugar often so you'll always be ready to go. If it's gotten hard, just seal it in a plastic bag with an apple wedge for a day or two to soften it, then throw away the apple. Soft, supple ad ready to bake!
