Miles for Your Mood
Need a body-image boost? Tack some extra time onto your next walk.
In a pilot study by researchers at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, researchers spent six months tracking the progress of young overweight women who exercised either 30 or 60 minutes a day, five days a week. Over the course of the study, the hour-long exercisers reported improvements in their feelings toward their bodies that were four times greater than the improvements experienced by the half-hour group. This finding jibes with the recommendations from the National Academy of Sciences, which recommends that everyone aim for 60 minutes of exercise each day for better overall health. Ready, set, walk!

I can't tell you how much my mood is improved and my energy levels are boosted by my workout routines. I workout in the morning which means I get to carry that "high" all day. It really makes a difference and if I don't workout for some reason I feel lethargic and much grumpier the rest of the day.

I have noticed that now, I feel so energized after I have worked because I work out hard but not to the point that I can't move after wards. On days that I don't exercise, I feel real slow and I find myself getting up and doing stuff around the house before I collapse on the bed and never get up and give up!
So exercising did help my mood and I am a lot more happier.

OMG! How true this is...I feel WONDERFUL after working on the tredmill or the elipticle burning my 800-1000 calories a day v. half an hour and 500 calories-especially seeing the scales tip favorably! I argue with myself to keep going and before I know it I am done! I feel as if I can accomplish anything throughout the day!
