    Burn calories at the office

I always try to fit a workout into day, even though I have a busy schedule with work and family.  Let's share tips and advice for sneaking activity into our already hectic day.

When I can remember, I flex/pulse my abs while I'm driving to/from work.  It's weirdly fun and I can actually feel the burn!

I try to park farther away from the entrance and I always take the stairs instead of the elevator.  A great way to build better relationships with coworkers and burn a few extra calories is to walk over to my coworker's office, instead of sending an email.  Every little bit counts, right?

I'm just getting back on the "weight wagon", too.  I even went and bought new scales this week because I couldn't believe I weighed that much on my old ones.  I did...  I'm looking for a new lifestyle and a healthier me.  That means 50 lbs. has to go!

I walk at work in our halls as much as possible and I park in the building across the street parking lot.  Right now that's my new trick.  I'm going to give this my best shot and I think the ideas and comraderie of having the Eat Better board will help.  Everyone - don't wait for Jan 1 - start today! I wish you all the best of luck.

My department started the biggest loser last year after the holidays.  Those who participated chipped in $10 and they were weighed each week.  The person who lost the highest percentage of weight when the contest ended (in June) won the money.  That inspired people to bring in veggie trays and Splenda type recipes for treats vs. the usual donuts and brownies.  It helped everyone!

Hi I'm new here. My resolution is to  be active for at least 20 mins a think I can do that playing with my kids. My hubby had ankle and surgeries for 3 yrs so we couldnt do much during that time. As a result we put weight on. But now we're trying to eat better and find ways to be active. I don't work but am a full time college student - so I walk a lot when class is in session. So I welcome ideas.

Way to go Dee, I am starting today, with my neighbor, she quit smoking and has gained 15 lbs.

June 11, they told me that I was a diabetic. Ouch that hurt. I took it somewhat seriously, and have lost 65#'s. I am proud of that. But have to admit that the lasst two weeks have not been good. Oooh the holidays, I can eat what I want. NOT, what a sorry excuse for me.

Anyway, my hubby bought me hand weights and resistance tubes for Christmas, ( I asked for them, he was not being rude). Yea I have one of those excercise balls. When I bought a year ago, I used for a week or two. Even when the dog thought I was nuts. My problem is finding the motivation to get off of my back side, and get moving.

I hope you meet your goal in the new year.

Stay safe, be prosperous, and good luck in the new year!
