    Time?

I am a teacher and also a graduate student.

My husband also is in school. I feel like we have no time to cook healthy food (but we're going to try to begin this week) much less exercise for 30 minutes a day. I feel like I hit the ground running each morning.

Any suggestions about ways to cut time so we can exercise?

We joined a local 24-hour gym, so we can go any time. I don't like exercising in front of people though...

I know, I'm being a pessimist, but just want some encouragement I guess.

    Any suggestions will help!

I'm 23 and am about 20 pounds overweight for my height. I've tried dieting, but am going to have to add exercise to get results.

    Thanks!

Not all healthy foods take long to prepare but if you can, dedicate one day to making all your meals for the entire week. This way they are already made and just need to be warmed up. If you plan on baking in the oven, grade some papers or take a shower in the meantime. Multi-task.

Thats great that you joined a gym just don't let your money go to waste. I'm not a fan of public gyms either. Treadmills can be boring to run on. Your already at a school, why not utilize the track? Go for a bike ride or if you have a dog take it on a walk. Being outside is good for your health and you can change the senery. Don't forget that muscle weighs more than fat so that might be the reason your not losing as fast as you think you should.

Although 30min of exercise a day should be minimum, its not always possible. This is why you should be counting your calories. Write them down. A good rule of thumb is to take your weight and multiple it by 7 to know what your daily calorie intake should be to lose weight. Then somewhere around 2000 to maintain. This has worked for me. I lost 30lbs by following this.
