I have so many parties to go to with my family and friends during the holidays, and there will be plenty of sweet treats and fattening foods.  Any suggestions for appetizers that I can bring that are a little healthy, yet still a crowd-pleaser?

I have the same problem and am on this website looking for healthy, easy appetizers.  One appetizer that came up here was a bean dip - hummus style.  I've made a roasted red bell pepper hummus and it was delicious.  You can buy roasted red peppers; I don't know about the roasted garlic though.  You have to cook a head of garlic for about an hour in the stove.  That's for hummus though.

Bean dips can be very low fat.  I take pinto beans and add spices and puree them - yummy!  They're great with baked chips or pita chips or veggies.

hi, i'm new to the site, just joined today but yours was the first post I read.  I teach for a weight loss support group and your post caught my eye.  Why not take a nice fresh fruit tray or a veggie/dip tray to your parties?  I take drained pinto beans and put them into a food processer and add 1tsp olive oil, a good dash of seasoned salt and a nice sprinkle of garlic powder sometimes i add a small onion and blend until it is smooth  this makes a nice low calorie humus dip along with the fresh veggies or baked chips.
