Congrats for starting your healthier lifestyle.

Another article of his said you do need to add strength training or you will plateau in weight loss.
The treadmill is the best way to see faster results. However, working out doesn't mean you get to eat more. It means you have to eat smarter. Stay away from the white foods. White bread, white rice, potatoes, etc. Try whole wheat pastas, whole wheat bread (Check the ingredient list, it must say "Whole Wheat" not enriched white flour. It should be the 1st ingredient. ). Try brown rice instead of white. Stay away from sugar. Look at the ingredients on items. Low fat items usually crank up the sugar to make them taste good. I can't stress enough how much you need to look at food labels. Make sure to get your veggies in.
Another tip is to watch your portion size. And eat many smaller meals. I eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, then dinner. Eat high fiber, it will keep you fuller longer. But watch those labels and try to keep the sugar low!
I love Dr Oz. I saw a tip on his show the other day that has been working for me. When you are craving sweets, eat a tic tac or two. It fools your body into thinking you got what it wanted. I loaded up on them. They are in my purse, home, work. I haven't had chocolate in days! That's unbelievable in my book.
Best of luck on your new life and don't be disappointed if things start slow. Today you are healthier than you were yesterday.
You will get there!
