    Good afternoon, everyone!

This is a daily thread where anyone who is trying to lose weight the healthy way can find support and accountability.  Just log in and post something.  You can tell us your current weight, your goal weight, your personal food goal “just for today,” your exercise goals, or your struggles with anything related to these goals.  Post your questions here too.  Perhaps we know the answers (or know someone who does).

Try to make it part of your routine to update us daily.  Personally, I plan to post something about my weight loss program here on this thread each morning and read the posts of others a couple of times throughout the day when I get a chance.

This is a brand new function for this forum, so please feel free to off suggestions about how to run this thread if you have any!!!

NOW LET’S HEAR HOW YOU ALL ARE DOING!

It is Saturday, January 30, 2010

Well I finally lost half of one pound! It's pretty funny, Shanette, how you and I seem to have gotten stuck at about the same weight for a while - isn't it?  I know that half a pound is not much (not enough to update my ticker anyway), but hopefully I broke out of that stalled progress.

I haven't been weiging myself until Mondays.  I think I will switch to Saturdays.  Sundays are a difficult day for me to stick to a healthy diet.  Everybody here is home and snacking, and sometimes we have company (which always seems to revolve around food :-( )

I am making a Madiera chicken recipe I found in an old Betty Crocker cookbook today, only with slight modifications.  I plan to add some cranberrries to it.  Yum!

Tomorrow - chili with baked potato

I am working out later today too.  I couldn't do it in the morning because I was babysitting my 2-year-old nephew from 7:30 AM until about 30 minutes ago.  I think I will buy a couple of light hand weights and use the YouTube pilates videos for some strength training.

Remember to stand tall this weekend and hold in those lower abdominals!

    Trish

    Hi there,

I just found this site when I entered the BL pound for pound Challenge. I have been on a program for the last 8weeks through a chiropractor who specializes in nutrition. He believes that hormones and the fact that most americans have abused there bodies by the way they eat. I have had great success since going to him. He encourages me to eat as much organic produce that I can and also right now mainly fish although In treat myself once in awhile to something I really want so I do not feel deprived. I definately need to work out more and unfortunately we are in the midst of a snowstorm and I have a bad cold and going into bronchitis. working out today is not an option. I have signed up for a 10k in March (my 6th one) but the 1st since my knee surgery last summer. I have had about 25 surgical procedures over the years. I will just keep plugging away!

WELL IT IS SAT.  I HAD TO WORK, THIS MORNING.  I MADE THE OATMEAL PEANUT BUTTER BREAKFAST COOKIES. YUMMY.  THEY ARE REALLY GOOD.  THEN I MADE THE NO BAKE APPLE BARS.  ALSO A HIT.  I THINK I JUST MIGHT MAKE ANOTHER BATCH FOR THE OFFICE ON MOND.

WAS GOING TO WORK OUT TONIGHTM BUT MY HIP POPPED OUT SO I WILL TRY TOM.  IT HAPPENS NOW MORE THEN IT DID BECAUSE I HAVE LOST SO MUCH WEIGHT.  THAT IS OK.  I GET TO GO SEE MAGIC FINGERS ON MONDAY.  HE KNOWS HOW TO POP AND PUT EVERYTHING BACK AND IT ONLY TAKES ABOUT 5 MIN.  BEST TIME OF MY LIFE.

HAVE TO WORK A SHORT SHIFT AND THEN I AM OFF ON MONDAY.  I ALSO WORK WITH MY CSP PERSON. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT WILL BE INTERESTING TILL I FIGURE OUT A SCHEDULE THAT WORKS.

WELL BETTER GO I AM ACTUALLY TIRED TONIGHT.  HELPED MY DAUGHTER DO TWO PAPER ROUTES AND THEN I CAME HOME AND COOKED SUPPER.

I THINK I WILL HAVE TO MAKE ME SOMETHING IN THE MORNING TO TAKE TO WORK. I WAS THINKING ABOUT SOME PASTA(LOVE IT) BUT THEN I WAS ALSO THINKING BAKED POTATO ALSO.  TOUGH CHOICE FOR ME I LOVE THEM BOTH.  HAVE TO SLEEP ON IT.

    WELL BETTER GO.

TALK TO EVERYONE IN THE MORNING.  CONGRATS ON THE 1/2 A POUND.  IT IS STILL LOSING.  KEEP IT UP. I AM STCUK AGAIN AT 165 OH WELL I WILL GET PAST IT.

Welcome, Wilwoman -- sounds like a great program that you are following!  I would love to hear more about it. Keep posting.

Shanette -- My family would be very jealous of your family if they knew how many treats you make them!  And you work so much too!  You must be incredibly organized!

I stepped on the scale this morning...DRUM ROLL PLEASE.... down 7 pounds this week!  (Don't worry, I am losing the healthy way Smile )

Here is a little about myself, I am new to this website, I signed up for the PFP challenge.  I have bad knees also - I had a knee surgery 2 years ago when I was only 27. I have had issues losing weight, to many fad diets and detoxes had gone through my system.  I finally found a great program (Dr Recommended) that is working for me - I lost 40 pounds my first 3 months on the program without having to workout. I started at 260.6 pounds at only 5'2".   I thought it was a miracle - and my knees finally quit hurting every day and night.

I took a break losing weight while trying to concieve but started back up last week.  I am losing weight again and I feel great.  The program has balanced the amount of protein, fats, carb, and has balanced my blood sugars which in turn make me feel like a new person.  I finally have energy to get through the WHOLE day...  My own parents have both lost about 70 each since last summer.  My father (62 years old)  has dropped 70 pounds and ALL HIS DIABETES medications.

I think its great to be able to share with each other - I am so excited about my 7lbs this week!!!

WELL WELCOME.  THAT IS WONDERFUL THAT YOU HAVE LOST 7 LAST WEEK. I AM STUCK AT 165.  I HAVE LOST A TOTAL OF 88 POUNDS SO FAR ON THE WAY TO 103.  I DID THIS BECAUSE MY DAD(WHO I HAVE KINDOF TAKE AFTER) IS DIABETIC.  I DO NOT WANT TO BE LIKE THAT.  HE HAS LOST 30 POUNDS BUT HW IS DOING IT ALL WRONG,  HE IS ON INSULIN SO HE THINKS THAT IT IS OK.  HE WANTS MY MOM TO WATCH WHAT HE EATS FOR HIM AND THAT IS NOT GOING TO WORK.

I MAKE A BUNCH OF RECIPES FROM THE WEBSITE.  THE KIDS REALLY LIKE IT. MY HUSBAND HAS NOT GOTTEN ON THE WAGON YET.  I DID MAKE THE WHOOPIE PIES AND THEY TASTED WONDERFUL.  BUT LATER ON SOMETHING DIDN'T AGREE WITH MY STOMACH AND BOY IT WAS UPSET.  MAYBE IT WAS THE 2 THAT I HAD.  THEY WERE ONLY 100 CALS A PEICE AND BOY DID IT COME BACK TO HAUNT ME.

I HAVE REALLY WATCHED MY FAT AND CAL INTAKE.  I THINK THAT ALONG WITH EXERCISE IS A GOOD COMBO.  WE LIVE IN SUCH A FAST FOOD AND SNARF (SP) IT DOWN IN THE CAR THAT I DON'T EAT IT ANYMORE UNLESS IT IS SUBWAY.  I LOVE THE VEGGIE SUB.

THANKS FOR SHARING YOU STORY, AND KEEP US POSTED.

RE: Healthy Support and Motivation -Saturday

I woke up this morning realizing more then ever that I need to make a change. I am overweight and I am not happy at all how I look. I have gained 15lbs. in 2 months and can't fit into anything. It is time to make the change before I totally lose it. I don't want this to be okay for me and realize I need help. So I got on the computer and found this website. I have enjoyed it so far and feel as though the change will be easier knowing that I can make the foods I like to eat but healthified. I hope that with my busy schedule I can make this change and challenge myself to lose the weight I need to. I am currently 160 and want to be 130, so I have 30 lbs I need to lose in all. I want to find a good exercise routine that will boost my metabolism and rev me up. I vow to make a change this day forward. Wish me luck!
