I have been making a real effort to watch what I put in my mouth and for the most part I think I am doing pretty well. I have not got the exercise down yet, but that is not my main focus right now. I though eating better was going to make me feel better. I am so exhausted it is not funny. What am I doing wrong? I have a 9 month old and can barely keep up.

I know exactly how you feel.  I am a currently single mother with a 6 month old and an almost 3 year old.  I am constantly on the go.  I felt the same way until I did start exercising.  I do 45 minutes a day after I get off off of work.  I know that I have a ton of things to do as soon as I get home but exercising calms me.  It's my time to unwind.  You will see that once you start adding exercise to your daily routine that you will start to feel better.  Yes, you will still feel somewhat tired but you will feel better.  Keep up the good work with your eating right.

    Stiney,

Make sure that you are eating enough. Your body does need to have enough calories to sustain you, and a diet should not deprive you. Watch your portion sizes, and make sure you get enough protein along with fruits veggies and some carbs.

Once you start some exercise, you will start feeling more energized. Walking is a good way to begin if you don't already have an exercise program.

Don't forget to get a good night's sleep, also. (I know sometimes it is difficult with small children) Sleep deprivation also causes weight gain.

Put that 9 month old in a stroller, and take off on a walk. Having little ones point out things they are seeing outside is a real special time. "Birdie," "Flower," just start walking and pointing out things of interest. You have a 'built-in' walking partner!

    Good luck to you!

I would look into what you are eating.  I am a mother of two 7yrs, 3yrs.  I was very energetice before my first one was born then I lost a little.  But it went down hill when my second was born.  I then started getting migraines and started go to the doc.  He was no help.  Started to see a natropathic doc.  And found out I was msg sensitive and I had to change my whole diet.   I took out all the processed foods.  And I found I was basicly cooking processed plus some veg, fruit and meat. But everything from cereals to mixed dinners.  If it saves you time it most likely bad for you.  I started by lookin into MSG and it is hidden every where.  I then found out that High fructose syrup makes you feel hungery and makes you crave it more.  Once I cut out all of that and started cooking from scratch the real basics.  I tell you have lost 5 pounds with out trying and I  have energy. I even eat less! with out feeling hungery. Don't forget to eat a balanced diet so that your intake of vitemins are absorbed.  I do yoga from home after taking a beginners class.  I have been basicly headache free and full of energy for 1 month!  You have to read every label every time! Do your research!  look into how it is made!
