New Year….New Blogger!

A new year is the time to start fresh, right?  Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tara Gidus and I am the fresh new face of the eatbetteramerica.com blog.  I am thrilled that I’ve been invited to blog here because I love the idea of being part of a movement that is grabbing the attention of America to help us eat better.

I talk to so many people who think that eating better takes a lot of time or, even worse, a lot of sacrifice.  I really don’t think there is any reason, aside from allergies, to omit a certain food or food group.  “All foods can fit” is the dietitian motto I live by.  I hope to share with you what I have learned about managing what to eat with burning energy.  It is not all about weight loss, but rather about achieving that holy grail of balance.

As a dietitian, you can probably guess that I eat perfectly all of the time and my favorite food is broccoli.  Mmmmm…not quite.  My favorite foods are pizza and chocolate and there is no such thing as a perfect eater (what is perfect anyway?)  You will find as you read this blog that my mission is to share real-life tips that can help you to eat better.  We may even share a few laughs and have some fun! I am not a food cop; rather I focus on taking the guilt out of eating and on making realistic choices.

I specialize in helping people manage their energy.  I have yet to meet anyone (aside from a two-year-old) who doesn’t want more energy.  We all want to have the energy to complete our never-ending “To Do Lists.” I’ve worked with everyone from professional athletes to corporate executives and everyday moms, and I’ll share what I’ve learned. It’s absolutely true that  a few small changes can net big results.

I hope you visit the site often and share what is on your mind.  I love feedback so don’t be afraid to post comments.  I would also like to hear suggestions for what you would like me to discuss.  Just post a comment and offer an idea.
