Director of preventive cardiology

Lori Mosca, MD, PhD, is the director of preventive cardiology at New York–Presbyterian Hospital, associate professor of medicine at Columbia University, and medical director of the Columbia Center for Heart Disease Prevention in Manhattan. She is internationally renowned in the field of cardiovascular disease prevention and has a special interest in heart disease in women. Dr. Mosca was chair of the expert panel and lead author of the 2004 American Heart Association Evidence-Based Guidelines for Women, and has over 200 scientific publications. She chairs the American Heart Association Council on Epidemiology and Prevention, is president of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology, and chief medical advisor for the Sister to Sister--Everyone Has a Heart Foundation. Dr. Mosca is author of Heart to Heart: A Personal Plan for Creating a Heart-Healthy Family.
