Will power, energy, and motivational friend needed

So it's been a few YEARS since i've tried kicking these 30 extra pounds. I've set new goals for myself, tried the workout plans and sometimes I just can't stick to them. Lets face it food is very appealing, otherwise the world wouldn't have problems shedding the unnessary from our splurge times. I'm looking for a healthier, more fit, more energetic me and I need some back-up. I'm looking for a buddy to stick with on the regular to be there for me as I will for them in their journey to bettering themselves as well. I'm looking forward to hearing from anyone. :) I'm real excited to start off this new year with a kick.

Any vegetarians out there?

Hey, any vegetarians out there? My doctor says he never saw an overweight veg. Oh, well, there are still the breads and pastries and stuff. Being veg. doesn't necessary mean healthy in all the other ways! Any others out there doing this program with me?

My weight loss has stalled

I have lost nine pounds from my starting point, but now it has stalled. I have not just gone on a diet, but have changed what I eat, how I eat and the way I look at food. It's been a true lifestyle change. But now I've just stalled. I have quite a bit more to go. I used to eat relatively unhealthy, and for the last 1.5 months I've been a very good girl. I'm so frustrated.

Anyone have any information on the South Beach Diet?

Hello everyone...I need some information. I went to my doctor's office yesterday and he told me that I need to exercise everyday for at least 20 minutes and that I need to lose weight (such a cruel doctor)...Well, after I gathered up the pieces of my self esteem from the floor he told me that I should look into the South Beach Diet plan, which is a low glycemic index diet plan but I don't have any information about it...can anyone help me out? Thanks. :)

Hi, My name is Jenn. I just joined today.

I am currently in college and I live in the dorm rooms so it is really hard to eat healthy. On top of not having healthy food to really choose from at school I just quit smoking so I am scared that I am going to start using food more then I did in the past.

I am looking for help to motivate me to stay on task.

I believe that having someone to talk to and share problems we may face about weight loss will help.

Remember this saying as you try to reach your goal weight...

It's important to "Eat to live, not live to eat." I watched the History Channel on the topic of Gluttony a couple of weeks ago. For those who are religious, such as myself, it really hit home. I think differently about what and how much I eat now. If you want to read more on it, please read Proverbs 23:2 and 23:20-21. I don't pick up whatever I want anymore. I try to go for organic fruits and vegetables, and spices that were put here on this earth intended for us to eat. My family and I have not consumed fast food in a year so we don't remember what it tastes like. Pastries are not allowed either. If you can avoid those types of foods, then after a week or so your body won't crave it and you will not be easily tempted.

Hope this helps. This was a last resort for me to quit giving in to non-healthy foods.

All the best to everyone!

Gina :o)

Mom needs to loose weight!

I have 3 children - the youngest is almost 3 weeks old! I only gained about 15 lbs during my pregnancy which was great since I was already overweight. A week after having the baby I tried on my old jeans just to check the damage and was mildly surprised to find that they fit. A little snugger in spots than they used to but at least I didn't have to lie on the bed to button them! I checked the scale and I am actually down to my pre-preg weight minus five extra lbs. However, I still want to loose another 45 lbs that I picked up while my husband and I were dating and during our marriage. I just thought since I am on leave I will try to sneak in work-outs and I hope to loose some before I return to work. My biggest problem is that I live with a husband who is a sweet eater and though he would like to see me loose weight if I want to do it, he is not a motivator! On top of that I have a newborn who is up every 2-3 hours to eat and since I am on leave, of course I am the one loosing the most sleep. If anyone has any tips or advice I would love to hear it!

I lost 6lbs in one week

Let me say this site is great!!!

Now about me. I work for an organic dairy company which is very good for me. Im a supervisor and also drive tractor/trailer when needed. My days are very full with little time for workouts and corrective eating, but i made it work. It all started last week when i was at one our plants and i stepped on a scale......218lbs. To me this was looking and getting bad at the same time. So i said to myself "this is going work this time and i will make it work."

I went to my girlfriend whom im going to give a lot of credit to for sticking with me so far and helping me with the foods i need. We sat down and started a list for each day starting with breakfast, lunch and dinner. My meals are between 400-500cals for each meal. Nothing to fancy now as im taking baby steps and working my way up.

So what happened i went to my doctor for a skin problem i have on my face and i got my weight checked..212lbs as of wednesday. Today i stepped back on the scale at our plant and quess what 212lbs whaaaa hoooooo. they match...the scales that is lol. Im aiming for 200lbs by july which if i stick with this i will be there.

All i can say is you can do this if your dedicated and want it. Look we didnt gain this weight overnight so its not going away overnight.

You have to crawl before you walk and i know you people can do it

Calvin
