A sauce of maple syrup and Dijon mustard makes fresh asparagus taste awesome. From eatbetteramerica.

2lb asparagus
2tablespoons real maple syrup or maple-flavored syrup
2tablespoons Dijon mustard
1.Snap off tough ends of asparagus spears. In 12-inch skillet or 4-quart Dutch oven, heat 1 inch water to boiling. Add asparagus. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to medium. Cover; cook 4 to 5 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender; drain.
2.In small bowl, mix maple syrup and mustard; drizzle over asparagus.

Simple, quick, and delicious!
My 11 year old son and I prepared this recipe along with several others to sample how we best liked asparagus and this one was the easiest, quickest, and quite tasty. It will definitely be one to keep for future use - especially when time or lack of additional ingredients is an issue.
