Associate professor of food science
J. Lynne Brown, PhD, RD, is an associate professor of food science at Pennsylvania State University and chair of Family and Community Food Systems Outreach Group. As an extension nutrition specialist, she develops nutrition education materials and programs for consumers. Her primary focus is on programs to reduce the risk of chronic disease (cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, and so on) and to provide consumer information about products of new technologies (genetically engineered and irradiated foods).
