With a bit of patience, you can change your family's palate to healthier tastes. Don't give up after the first, second, third, or fourth try. It can take 10 to even 20 times of trying something before you begin to like it. With dedication and patience you can start craving spinach, beets, and Brussels sprouts.
- To train your tastebuds, pair a flavor of a food you love with another food that you don't like so well. For example, if you love peanut butter but hate broccoli, for dinner make peanut butter sauce to serve with broccoli and pasta.
- You can also sneak up on your family. Add little bits of healthy foods to your family's favorite meals. Throw some spinach on pizza, or mix whole wheat pasta with your white pasta.
- When dining out, go to restaurants with chefs who know delicious ways to prepare healthful ingredients such as egg substitutes, tofu, and brown rice.
- Recruit other family members and friends to share their recipes. It helps to get healthy meal ideas from people you trust.
